Easy Paint is a small, independent project with one job: tell you exactly how much paint to buy and what it'll cost — fast, free, and without making you create an account first.
Most paint calculators online are either buried inside a retailer trying to sell you their own brand, or they spit out a number with no explanation of how they got there. The result is the same frustrating trip every DIYer knows: you either run out halfway up the last wall, or you end up with a shelf of half-used cans you'll never touch again.
These tools are built to fix that. The numbers come from real, hands-on painting — actual rooms, actual coverage, actual "why did this dark wall need three coats" lessons — not just the optimistic figure printed on the side of the can.
What you can count on
- Free, with no sign-up. Open a calculator, get your answer, close the tab. That's it.
- Honest math, shown in the open. Every result shows the breakdown so you can see exactly where the number came from and adjust it for your own walls.
- Practical defaults. The starting values reflect a typical real room, so even if you just want a ballpark you'll get a sensible one.
- Built to grow. The plan is a full set of painting calculators — paint, cost, primer, stain, wallpaper and more — added one at a time and kept up to date.
How it stays free
Easy Paint is supported by ads and the occasional affiliate link — if you click through and buy a recommended product (like a roller kit or a quality paint), we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's what keeps the calculators free and lets new ones get built. Recommendations are kept honest; nothing here is "best" just because it pays more.
